Day 2 of the "12 Days of Giving"

Welcome to Day 2 of our “12 Days of Giving” here on the “More from Lexington Family” blog.

Here’s how it works. Every day from now until December 13 we will feature a different giveaway here on the blog and we’ll also give your family a great idea for giving back in our community.

All you have to do is use the Rafflecopter widget to enter the giveaway. You can earn more than one entry for each giveaway. Just scroll down to enter.

We’ll start the giveaways around 10 a.m. every day, and announce the winner at around 9 a.m. the next day. Prizes will be available at the Lexington Family office at 138 E. Reynolds Rd., Ste 201. Gift card prizes can be mailed, but larger prizes must be picked up.

GIVING BACK

Our next recommendation for giving back this holiday season is The Lexington Humane Society. This year they anticipate close to 5,000 animals will need help and as they are a non-profit humane agency completely reliant upon private donations and community support your help is always needed.

The Humane Society needs:

·         canned cat and dog food

·         gas cards

·         pee pads

·         timothy/alfalfa for small animals

·         a gently used professional DSLR camera

·         copy paper

·         high quality AAA-batteries

·         HE laundry detergent and bleach

Donations are accepted seven days a week.

If you are looking for gifts for the furry friends in your life, or for the animals lovers, then shop for gifts at the Pampered Paws Boutique in the lobby, Monday-Thursday, and Saturday, noon-6 p.m., Friday, noon-8 p.m., and Sunday, 1-5 p.m.

You’ll find t-shirts, sweatshirts, dog and cat toys, artwork and more.

Choose a “Sponsor a Pet Photo Frame” from the Christmas tree for $20 to make a donation in a loved one’s name.

You’ll find The Lexington Humane Society at1600 Old Frankfort Pike. It’s really easy to find. If you are on New Circle Rd. take the Old Frankfort exit and head in toward town. LHS is on the right.
